The Dead Zone

I was talking on my cell phone yesterday and in the middle of me talking I realized I was talking to empty space and not a person.  They had gone through a "Dead Zone" and the reception was first bad, and then nonexistent.  I had been talking for at least 3-5 minutes without the other person hearing a word of what I was saying.  It is very frustrating to carry on a conversation with another person and they can't even hear you.  God is continually making calls to us, and sadly enough we have created Dead Zones everywhere.  When we have a problem with something God is trying to say to us we step over to one of those zones and consciously put ourselves out of range.  Those Dead Zones have taken over the Good Signal Areas and instead of hearing God clearly, His message is garbled or gone.  The problem is not his message.  The problem is we are living too much in the deadness and it is creeping further and further into our daily routine.

2 Corinthians 4:1-18 addresses this problem in the lives of those who don't know Christ and those who are believers as well.  For the non-Christian, Satan, the god of this age, continually tries to cover up or distort anything that has to do with God and His ways.  In verse 4 Paul speaks of a "veiling" of the truth by satan to unbelievers and shows that satan's plan is to make sure the connection is never made between God and them.  They live in the "Dead Zone" and only the light of the truth will be able to lead them to the right connection.
On the other hand, believers have the exact fix for those who don't have any reception.  And it's not that we are speaking about something we only know, but we are speaking about "who we are!"  The answer is Jesus Christ and He is the light that cuts through the static all around.  His truth becomes very clear, very quick.... Verse 2 - We have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception nor do we distort the Word of God.  On the contrary, be setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.  That's why the hope we speak of is so easy to share and easy to understand.  It is God's gift to us, and God's gift through us. Paul goes on to say in verse 7-12 that we have this treasure in "jars of clay" to show that none of it comes from us, but from God.  WE are fragile on our own, but equipped with exceptional power with Christ in our lives.  That exceptional part is what God is trying to use in our lives to share His TRUTH with those who are living in the Dead Zones.  Just make sure your connection is good with God and then MOVE!
In our pilgrimage as believers I believe it is vital to test all things said by all to see if it lines up with God's Word and His Plan.  I believe we have assumed a lot of things and THAT is why our reception is weak at best.  Don't assume.  Go to the source.  God hasn't moved.....We have.  The last thing I need to do at times in my life is read a book on how to get closer to God.  What I do need is to stop, be still, read His Word, listen, and live.  The clearer I hear Him, the more the truth can be realized and seen in my life.  No miscommunications, no static, no questions unanswered, TRUTH.
Towers are available for use everywhere. Pick up the phone and make your connection today and don't ever hang up.  That's what I call living in the "LIFE ZONE!'

The Pilgrimage continues.....
